Built from running my own online shop

For 14 years (2010 to 2024) I ran FaSmart, a UK smart home e-commerce business, and built custom WooCommerce solutions to handle complex inventory, high-traffic sales and automated order fulfilment. So I know the practical side of selling online as well as the technical side.

My toolkit: WordPress (expert level), WooCommerce, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL, Python, Docker, Git and Cloudflare.

Joined up with IT and security

Because I also handle IT support and security, your website, email and accounts are looked after together. See security and GDPR compliance and IT support.

Typical projects

  • A new business website that explains what you do and makes it easy to call or email.
  • A redesign of a site that looks dated, loads slowly or is hard to update.
  • A WooCommerce shop with stock, orders and fulfilment that work.
  • Speed and security tidy-ups for sites that have been left alone for a while.
  • Hosting and maintenance so updates, backups and monitoring just happen.
  • Moving a site to new hosting without losing pages or search visibility.

How a website project runs

Clear stages, one person throughout.

  1. Talk it through

We cover what the site must do, who it is for and what already exists. You get a clear quote before anything starts.

  2. Plan the pages

A simple structure with one clear page per service, written for your customers and for search engines.

  3. Build and test

Built on WordPress with editable blocks, tested on phones and tablets, and checked for speed and accessibility.

  4. Launch and look after it

Go-live checks, then hosting, backups, updates and monitoring with a 99.9% uptime target.

Built to be found locally

Every site I build includes the technical SEO basics: unique page titles and descriptions, clean headings, fast loading, structured data and a sitemap. For a local business that also means making the place and the service clear on every page, and setting up your Google Business Profile.

WordPress and WooCommerce questions

Short, honest answers. Call or email if yours is not here.

Can you take over my existing WordPress site?

Often, yes. A first step is a review of what is installed, what is out of date, whether backups work and how fast the site is, so you know where you stand before anything changes.

Do you host websites as well as build them?

Yes. Design, development, hosting and maintenance sit with one person, so there is a single point of contact. Hosting is managed with a 99.9% uptime target.

Can you build an online shop?

Yes, with WooCommerce. I ran my own UK smart home e-commerce business for 14 years, building custom WooCommerce solutions for complex inventory, high-traffic sales and automated order fulfilment.

Will my website be fast and secure?

I build for speed, test on mobile, keep software updated and use backups and monitoring. No site can be made completely risk-free, but the common weaknesses are closed. See WordPress maintenance in Cambridgeshire.

Can you help my website show up in Google?

I set up the technical basics: page titles, descriptions, speed, structured data and a sitemap. Rankings depend on many things, so I do not promise a position, but a fast, well-structured site is the foundation.
